Washington County Hospital is a critical access hospital licensed for 25 beds and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It includes a 2,800-annual-visit emergency department with state-of-the-art equipment, including a PACS system, Nighthawk service, and fast laboratory and x-ray results. As an SSM-affiliate, Washington County Hospital offers easy transfers to tertiary care and evaluation at other nearby SSM facilities.

This emergency physician job offers competitive hourly compensation plus incentives at a lower-volume facility with a great team environment. We offer A++ rated malpractice coverage, with shifts booked 60 days in advance and the option of 24-hour, 36-hour and 48-hour shifts.

Ideal candidates should be board certified in emergency medicine, family practice, or internal medicine, and have at least two years of full-time emergency medicine experience.

Nashville, with a population of about 3,600, is a wonderful small town with a blend of gracious historic homes and modern subdivisions. Nashville offers excellent public and private schools and a great family atmosphere. Nearby colleges and universities include Kaskaskia Community College, the Carbondale and Edwardsville campuses of Southern Illinois University, and two private four-year colleges –McKendree College and Greenville College.
